Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the unsweetened chocolate and butter together until smooth.
- In a bowl, mix the melted chocolate mixture with granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined.
- Gently fold in the cherries until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
