Ingredients
- Phyllo dough, thawed
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup mixed nuts (walnuts and almonds), finely chopped
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- Cinnamon, to taste
- Nutmeg, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Layer sheets of phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- In a bowl, mix chopped nuts, honey, sugar, and spices.
- Spread the nut mixture over the phyllo layers.
- Fold the phyllo dough over the filling and brush with more melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, garnishing with chopped pistachios or almonds if desired.
Notes
Keep unused phyllo covered with a damp cloth to prevent it from drying out. Use high-quality honey for best flavor.
