Description

A delightful dessert that combines flaky pastry with a rich honey filling and crunchy nuts, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • Phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (walnuts and almonds), finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Cinnamon, to taste
  • Nutmeg, to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Layer sheets of phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  3. In a bowl, mix chopped nuts, honey, sugar, and spices.
  4. Spread the nut mixture over the phyllo layers.
  5. Fold the phyllo dough over the filling and brush with more melted butter.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes until golden and crisp.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving, garnishing with chopped pistachios or almonds if desired.

Notes

Keep unused phyllo covered with a damp cloth to prevent it from drying out. Use high-quality honey for best flavor.
