Description

A comforting one-pot dish with savory ground beef, fluffy rice, and a medley of spices and vegetables that’s quick to prepare and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup rice (white or brown)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cups beef broth or water
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro), for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
  2. Add diced onions, garlic, and bell peppers to the skillet, sautéing until softened.
  3. Rinse the rice and add it to the skillet along with beef broth or water.
  4. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook until the rice is fluffy and has absorbed the liquid, about 20 minutes (adjust for brown rice).
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add jalapeños or cayenne pepper. Using beef broth instead of water enhances flavor.
