Ingredients
- 12 large pasta shells
- 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the pasta shells until al dente, according to package instructions.
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and egg; season with salt and pepper.
- Mix the beef with the cheese mixture.
- Stuff each shell with the beef mixture.
- Spread some marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish and place the stuffed shells on top.
- Pour remaining marinara sauce over the shells.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
Notes
Stuffed shells can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
