Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups Halloween-themed M&M’s, plus extra for decorating
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- In a larger bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth and well incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry flour mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the Halloween-themed M&M’s, reserving some for decoration.
- Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and press extra M&M’s on top.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are soft. Cool slightly on a wire rack.
Notes
For softer cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
