Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Buttercream frosting for decorating
- Edible sprinkles and glitter for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each liner about 2/3 full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
- Frost with buttercream and decorate with edible sprinkles and glitter as desired.
Notes
Store cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months without frosting.
