Description
A traditional Norwegian rice porridge that’s rich, creamy, and utterly comforting, perfect for festive occasions.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice flour
 - 4 cups whole milk
 - 1 cup sour cream
 - 1/2 cup water
 - Cinnamon sugar for serving
 - Nutmeg for serving
 - Butter for serving
 
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed pot, combine the rice flour and water over medium heat, stirring until thickened.
 - Gradually add warm milk and sour cream, stirring continuously to achieve a smooth consistency.
 - Continue to cook, stirring, until the porridge is creamy and heated through.
 - Serve in warm bowls with a swirl of cream on top and garnished with cinnamon sugar, nutmeg, and butter.
 
Notes
For a thinner porridge, add more milk until desired consistency is reached. Serve with fresh berries or poached fruits for added flavor.
