Description

A traditional Norwegian rice porridge that’s rich, creamy, and utterly comforting, perfect for festive occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Cinnamon sugar for serving
  • Nutmeg for serving
  • Butter for serving


Instructions

  1. In a heavy-bottomed pot, combine the rice flour and water over medium heat, stirring until thickened.
  2. Gradually add warm milk and sour cream, stirring continuously to achieve a smooth consistency.
  3. Continue to cook, stirring, until the porridge is creamy and heated through.
  4. Serve in warm bowls with a swirl of cream on top and garnished with cinnamon sugar, nutmeg, and butter.

Notes

For a thinner porridge, add more milk until desired consistency is reached. Serve with fresh berries or poached fruits for added flavor.
