Ingredients
- 16 pearl onions
- 1 cup vinegar (white or apple cider)
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 Bay leaf
- Optional spices (dill, red pepper flakes, etc.)
Instructions
- Blanch pearl onions in boiling water for 1-2 minutes to loosen skins.
- Cool the onions, then peel them.
- In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and spices and bring to a simmer.
- Pack peeled onions into sterilized jars.
- Cover onions with hot vinegar mixture.
- Let cool, then seal jars and refrigerate.
Notes
Adjust spices and vinegar based on personal preference. Store these pickled onions in sterilized jars for up to 2-3 weeks in the fridge.
