Ingredients
- 1.5 lb boneless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1–2 tbsp neutral oil
- 3–4 minced garlic cloves
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (for slurry)
- Sliced green onions, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper and toss in cornstarch for a light crisp.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Brown the chicken in a single layer for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
- Lower heat to medium and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds.
- Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch slurry to the pan, stirring well.
- Return chicken to the skillet and simmer for 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve with lime if desired.
Notes
Use a heavy skillet for best browning. Control heat to avoid burning the honey. You can customize by adding sriracha for a spicy kick.
