Description
A delightful dish featuring baked onions filled with creamy goodness and topped with Asiago cheese.
Ingredients
- 4 large sweet onions
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup grated Asiago cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme or chives)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully remove the skins from the onions and hollow them out, leaving a thin layer of onion around the edges.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, Asiago cheese, herbs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Stuff the creamy mixture into the hollowed onions.
- Place the stuffed onions in a baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until the onions are tender and the tops are golden.
- Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes of baking to allow for browning.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. These can be frozen for up to 3 months before baking.
