Description

A delightful dish featuring baked onions filled with creamy goodness and topped with Asiago cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet onions
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup grated Asiago cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme or chives)
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully remove the skins from the onions and hollow them out, leaving a thin layer of onion around the edges.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, Asiago cheese, herbs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Stuff the creamy mixture into the hollowed onions.
  5. Place the stuffed onions in a baking dish and cover with foil.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes or until the onions are tender and the tops are golden.
  7. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes of baking to allow for browning.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. These can be frozen for up to 3 months before baking.
