Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Gradually mix in flour until a crumbly dough forms.
  4. Press the dough firmly into the bottom of a greased baking pan.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. In a saucepan, combine sugar and heavy cream. Heat over medium, stirring, until sugar dissolves.
  7. Increase heat and bring to a gentle boil, cooking until mixture thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
  8. Remove from heat, stir in sea salt.
  9. Pour the caramel over the baked crust, spreading evenly.
  10. Let cool completely before slicing into bars.
