Description
A juicy and flavorful double cheeseburger that’s easy to make and perfect for gatherings or weekend treats.
Ingredients
- 800 grams Beef mince (ground beef), at least 20% fat
- Salt & Pepper
- 1 tablespoon Canola oil
- 4 Soft burger buns (10cm / 4″ diameter)
- 4 slices Burger cheese slices (processed American recommended)
- 4 leaves Cos/romaine lettuce leaves (torn)
- 1 Tomato, sliced (~7mm / ¼” thick)
- 1 Red onion, thinly sliced rings
- 4 Large gherkins, sliced
- 1/2 cup Special Burger Sauce (creamy, orangey-pink)
- 1/2 cup Tomato chutney for burgers
- Ketchup and mustard (yellow American type)
- 500 grams French fries (side dish)
Instructions
- Divide the beef mince into 8 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 12 cm (4.7”) wide and 1 cm (0.4”) thick.
- Arrange all toppings and sauces for easy assembly.
- Preheat grill or BBQ to high and toast the buns cut-side up for 3–5 minutes.
- Season one side of each patty with salt and pepper, then flip, create a dent in the center, and season the other side.
- Heat canola oil in a skillet over high heat and cook 4 patties for 1.5 minutes per side, adding cheese after flipping.
- Allow patties to rest for 3 minutes after cooking.
- Assemble burgers with Special Burger Sauce, lettuce, tomato, patties, gherkins, red onion, and additional sauce on top.
- Serve hot with crispy French fries.
Notes
Use beef mince that is at least 20% fat for extra juiciness. Rest the patties after cooking to maintain moisture.
