Crispy oven-fried feta rolls with a sweet chili honey drizzle, perfect for parties and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces feta cheese
  • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried herbs
  • Optional: fresh herbs, spinach, olives, or roasted red peppers
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Optional: sweet chili sauce


Instructions

  1. Crumble the feta cheese into small pieces in a bowl. Mix in the dried herbs and garlic powder. You can add fresh herbs, spinach, olives, or roasted red peppers for extra flavor.
  2. Lay out a sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface. Brush it lightly with olive oil. Place a spoonful of the feta mixture at one end of the dough. Roll it tightly, then repeat this process for the remaining sheets and filling.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet and brush them with more olive oil. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and crispy.
  4. In a small saucepan, warm the honey over low heat. Stir in the chili flakes, then add the lemon juice. Mix well and keep warm.
  5. Drizzle the warm chili honey over the rolls and serve immediately. You can also serve it with extra sweet chili sauce on the side if you like.

Ensure your phyllo dough is thawed properly before using for the best results. Brush each layer of phyllo dough with olive oil for extra crispiness. Experiment with different fillings to enhance flavor.
