Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk to the sugar mixture and mix until combined.
- Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Pour the batter into the cupcake liners and bake until a toothpick comes out clean, about 20 minutes.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before decorating.
