Description
A sweet and savory twist on the classic grilled cheese featuring creamy white cheddar, fresh blueberries, and blueberry jam.
Ingredients
- 2 slices sourdough or multigrain bread
- 2 oz (60 g) white cheddar cheese, thinly sliced or shredded
- 2 tbsp fresh blueberries
- 1 tbsp blueberry jam
- 1–2 tbsp softened butter (for toasting)
- Optional: Fresh dill or mint for garnish
Instructions
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice butter-side down in a skillet and spread blueberry jam on the inside.
- Layer with white cheddar cheese, fresh blueberries, and optional herbs.
- Place the second slice of bread on top, with the buttered side facing out.
- Heat the skillet over medium heat. Cook the sandwich for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese melts.
- Let it rest for 30 seconds, then slice diagonally. Garnish with extra blueberries or herbs if desired.
Notes
Fresh blueberries give the best taste, but frozen blueberries can be used as an alternative. For added flavor, consider adding a thin slice of apple or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
