Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Mix warm water, milk, sugar, and yeast to create a bubbly mixture.
- In a bowl, combine flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture.
- Knead the dough until smooth; let it rise until doubled in size.
- Form individual balls and fill them with the brown sugar, chopped nuts, and cinnamon mixture.
- Fry on medium heat in a non-stick skillet until golden brown on both sides.
Notes
Best enjoyed hot off the skillet; can be served plain, with ice cream, or drizzled with honey.
