A crunchy, sweet-and-salty snack made with matzo, buttery caramel, and chocolate.
Ingredients
- 4 sheets of matzo
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay the matzo in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a saucepan, heat the butter, brown sugar, and salt until bubbling.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the matzo, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for about 10 minutes until bubbling.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top, allowing them to melt.
- Swirl the melted chocolate for a beautiful finish and let it cool.
Notes
Watch your caramel closely to prevent burning, and feel free to customize with nuts or spices.
