Description

Soft and chewy cookies enhanced with Greek yogurt for extra moisture and flavor, filled with semi-sweet chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Gently mix in the Greek yogurt and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Beat on low speed until just combined.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula.
  7. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake the cookies for 9-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden brown but the centers remain soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to rest on the baking sheet for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for an hour before baking. Try different types of chocolate chips for variety.
