Description
A delightful skillet bread infused with the warm flavors of garlic and rosemary, perfect for sharing with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose or bread flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons rapid rise instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 cup warm water (125-130°F)
- 3 cloves garlic, sliced or minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and sea salt together.
- Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a rough dough forms.
- Fold in the garlic and rosemary until evenly distributed in the dough.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough back in the bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Grease your skillet with a little olive oil. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a round loaf.
- Place the loaf in the skillet and let it rest for another 10-15 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing.
