Description

A delightful skillet bread infused with the warm flavors of garlic and rosemary, perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose or bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons rapid rise instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water (125-130°F)
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced or minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and sea salt together.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a rough dough forms.
  3. Fold in the garlic and rosemary until evenly distributed in the dough.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough back in the bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Grease your skillet with a little olive oil. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a round loaf.
  8. Place the loaf in the skillet and let it rest for another 10-15 minutes.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

Store leftover bread wrapped at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to a month. Reheat in the oven before serving.
