Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine water and butter; bring to a boil.
  3. Add flour and salt, stirring until the mixture forms a ball.
  4. Remove from heat and add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Pipe mounds onto a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, prepare the custard by heating milk in a saucepan.
  7. In a bowl, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and a bit of milk.
  8. Add the mixture to the heated milk, stirring continuously until thickened.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  10. Cool the pastry before filling with custard.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Pair with berries or chocolate sauce for a delightful dessert.
