Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a saucepan, combine water and butter; bring to a boil.
- Add flour and salt, stirring until the mixture forms a ball.
- Remove from heat and add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Pipe mounds onto a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the custard by heating milk in a saucepan.
- In a bowl, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and a bit of milk.
- Add the mixture to the heated milk, stirring continuously until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Cool the pastry before filling with custard.
Notes
Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Pair with berries or chocolate sauce for a delightful dessert.
