Description

A fragrant loaf of Italian bread infused with classic herbs and rich cheese, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or your choice)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Incorporate the herbs and cheese into the dough.
  5. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Place the loaf on a baking sheet and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with olive oil for dipping or as a side with soups.
