Description
A fragrant loaf of Italian bread infused with classic herbs and rich cheese, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
- 1 1/4 cups warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or your choice)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
- Add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Incorporate the herbs and cheese into the dough.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf on a baking sheet and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
