Description

A delightful drink perfect for warming you on a chilly day with sweet apples and spicy ginger.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium crisp apples (such as Fuji or Honeycrisp), washed, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sweetener of choice, to taste


Instructions

  1. Wash and core the apples, then slice them thinly.
  2. Peel and slice the fresh ginger root into thin pieces.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the apple slices, sliced ginger, cinnamon stick, and water.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in honey or sweetener to taste.
  6. Strain the tea through a fine sieve to remove solids.
  7. Pour into mugs and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Garnish with a thin apple slice, cinnamon stick, or lemon peel for added presentation.
