Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add molasses and egg to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
- Scoop in dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
- Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes, or scoop for drop cookies.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until set but still soft in the center.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
