Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5-6 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup flour (for the topping)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted (for the topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt for the crust; cut in butter until crumbly.
- Stir in water to form a dough, chill for 15 minutes.
- Roll out dough and cut into rounds to fit into a muffin tin.
- In another bowl, combine apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, and brown sugar; fill each crust with the apple mixture.
- For the crumble topping, mix oats, flour, nuts (if using), and melted butter; sprinkle over the apple filling.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
- Allow to cool before serving.
