Description
Tender, spiced meatballs bathed in a rich tomato sauce, inspired by the vibrant flavors of Morocco.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground meat (beef, lamb, or turkey)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, chopped herbs, salt, and pepper. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
- Add crushed tomatoes and return meatballs to the skillet. Simmer until cooked through, about 20 minutes.
Notes
Serve with couscous, rice, or crusty bread. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
