Description

Tender, spiced meatballs bathed in a rich tomato sauce, inspired by the vibrant flavors of Morocco.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, lamb, or turkey)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, chopped herbs, salt, and pepper. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and return meatballs to the skillet. Simmer until cooked through, about 20 minutes.

Notes

Serve with couscous, rice, or crusty bread. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
