Description
A dense, chocolaty mud cake that is moist and flavorful, perfect for special occasions or leisurely afternoons.
Ingredients
- 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa or more)
- 150g unsalted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 320°F (160°C). Grease and line a round cake pan with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine dark chocolate and butter until melted and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Combine the egg mixture with the cooled chocolate mixture.
- Gently fold in the flour and cocoa powder until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until a skewer inserted comes out clean, about 1 hour.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Serve plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or topped with vanilla ice cream. For a festivity, drizzle with chocolate ganache or cream cheese frosting.
