Ingredients

  • 1 pound Chicken Thighs
  • 2 tablespoons Shawarma Spice Blend
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley
  • 1 whole Lemon


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Season the chicken thighs with the shawarma spice blend, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Brown the chicken on all sides in the pot.
  5. Add the rinsed basmati rice to the pot and stir to coat with spices.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth, ensuring the rice is submerged. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low.
  7. Cover and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and chicken is tender.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork and toss in the fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly for fluffiness. Adjust spice levels to individual taste by marinating chicken beforehand for enhanced flavor.
