Description

A quick and easy dish that packs a flavorful punch, Paneer Bhurji is a healthy and filling breakfast option featuring crumbled paneer and spices.


Ingredients

  • 200 grams Paneer (Fresh or homemade preferred)
  • 1 Red Onion (Chopped)
  • 1 Tomato (Chopped)
  • 1 Green Chili (Finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro Leaves (Chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder (Optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder (Adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Fenugreek Leaves (Optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (Adjust to taste)


Instructions

  1. Crumble the paneer into small pieces and set aside.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil and butter over medium heat.
  3. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  4. Add chopped red onion and sauté until golden brown.
  5. Add green chili and chopped tomato, cooking until the tomato softens.
  6. Sprinkle in turmeric powder, cumin powder, chili powder, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  7. Add the crumbled paneer and mix thoroughly. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  8. Finish by adding chopped cilantro and dried fenugreek leaves, if using. Cook for another minute.

Notes

For best taste, use freshly made paneer. Adjust spice levels to preference.
