Description

Fun and spooky Peanut Butter Spider Cookies perfect for Halloween celebrations, featuring chocolate truffle bodies and chocolate legs.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy works best)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 24 chocolate truffles (Reese’s, Lindt, or similar round candies)
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips (for piping legs)
  • 48 candy eyes (2 per cookie)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, and sugars until fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until combined.
  5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cookies are golden and set.
  7. While warm, press a chocolate truffle into the center of each cookie and let them cool completely on wire racks.
  8. Melt chocolate chips and pipe 8 spider legs on each cookie. Stick 2 candy eyes onto each using the melted chocolate. Allow to firm before serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. They can be frozen for longer storage.
