A delightful cake that combines the rich flavors of pecan pie with a moist cake, topped with a luscious maple caramel sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel)
- Sea salt (for garnish)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare a greased cake pan.
- In a bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and airy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually incorporate flour and chopped pecans into the mixture.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake until a toothpick comes out clean, approximately 30-35 minutes.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the maple caramel by slowly cooking sugar and maple syrup together.
- Once the cake is baked and cooled, drizzle with maple caramel sauce.
- Garnish with sea salt and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a smoother cake, omit the pecans or replace them with chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
