Description

Delightful peppermint and chocolate cookies with festive swirls, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Red food dye

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and sugars until fluffy.
  2. Blend in egg and peppermint extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  5. Split the dough in half and color one half with red food dye.
  6. Form small balls of each dough and twist them together to create swirls.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until edges are golden, about 10-12 minutes.

Notes

Chill dough if it’s too soft to handle, and use a cookie scoop for uniform sizes.
