Description

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • Powdered sugar for coating


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, spices, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Mix in the molasses and egg until well combined.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
  7. After chilling, roll the dough into balls and coat each ball in powdered sugar.
  8. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
