Description
A simple yet elegant dessert that highlights the natural sweetness of ripe pears with aromatic flavors of cinnamon and vanilla.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe Bosc or Anjou pears
 - 2 cups water
 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 2 cinnamon sticks
 - 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
 - 2 tbsp lemon juice
 
Instructions
- Wash and peel the pears, keeping them whole.
 - In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
 - Gently add the pears to the simmering liquid, ensuring they are submerged.
 - Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20-30 minutes until fork-tender but firm.
 - Remove from heat and cool the pears slightly in their syrup before serving warm or chilled.
 
Notes
Serve warm or chilled; drizzle syrup over pears and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
