Description

Juicy, tender meatballs smothered in a rich gravy, bringing nostalgia to your dinner table.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, milk, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and sear until browned on all sides.
  4. Remove meatballs from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add beef broth to deglaze, scraping up the brown bits.
  5. Return meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the broth for about 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. If gravy is too thin, mix cornstarch with a bit of water and stir into the skillet to thicken.
  7. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. For a dairy-free option, substitute with plant-based milk and butter.
