A one-skillet dinner featuring chicken sausage, broccoli, and orzo for a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 link chicken sausage (about 85g)
- 1 cup dry orzo pasta
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 cup cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced chicken sausage and chopped onion, cooking until fragrant (about 2 minutes).
- Add garlic and broccoli, stir briefly.
- Pour in orzo and enough chicken broth to just cover it. Simmer and stir to prevent sticking.
- After 10-12 minutes, when orzo has soaked up the broth, sprinkle with cheese if desired.
Notes
Customize with different vegetables or sausages. For best results, avoid overcooking broccoli and store leftovers with a splash of water.
