Description

A quick and satisfying one-skillet dinner featuring chicken sausage, orzo pasta, and broccoli, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 link Chicken Sausage (about 85g)
  • 1 cup Orzo Pasta (uncooked)
  • 1 cup Broccoli Florets
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 small Onion, chopped
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1/4 cup Cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and toss in sliced chicken sausage and chopped onion. Sizzle for 2 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and broccoli; stir quickly.
  3. Pour in orzo and enough broth to barely cover the pasta. Simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, for about 10-12 minutes until orzo is plumped and has soaked up the flavor.
  4. If desired, sprinkle with cheese before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcook the broccoli for a crispy texture. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Add water while reheating if it gets too thick.
