Description

A cozy and flavorful twist on traditional meatballs featuring caramelized onions and gooey cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 lb Ground Pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (soaked in milk)
  • 2 large Onions (caramelized)
  • 1 cup Cheese (Gruyere or Swiss, shredded)
  • Salt & Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef and pork.
  2. Soak breadcrumbs in milk for a few minutes, then mix into the meat.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, mixing gently to combine.
  4. Shape the mixture into meatballs and let them chill in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  5. Caramelize sliced onions in a skillet with butter and olive oil over medium-low heat for about 20 minutes.
  6. Bake the meatballs on a sheet tray until cooked through.
  7. Combine meatballs with caramelized onions in the skillet.
  8. Top with shredded cheese and let it melt before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the meatballs rest off the heat for a few minutes before serving. Use high-quality meat for the best flavor.
