Fast and easy homemade gyros made with marinated chicken and a creamy feta tzatziki sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Chicken (Breast or Thigh)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 cup Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (crumbled)
- 1 medium Cucumber (grated)
- 4 Pita Bread
Instructions
- Slice the chicken into thicker strips and coat with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Marinate in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
- Prepare the tzatziki by grating cucumber, squeezing out excess water, and mixing with Greek yogurt, crumbled feta, lemon juice, dill, and a pinch of salt.
- Heat a skillet and cook the marinated chicken until browned, ensuring not to crowd the pan.
- Assemble the gyros by placing cooked chicken, tzatziki, and your favorite toppings (like tomatoes and onions) on warm pita.
Notes
You can customize the protein or toppings to suit your preferences. For reheating, store cooked chicken in an airtight container and the tzatziki can be made fresh when needed.
