A delightful fusion dessert combining flaky croissants with rich Shahi Tukda flavors, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 day-old croissants
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A pinch of saffron
- Slivered almonds or pistachios (for garnish)
- Rose water syrup (optional)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the croissants in half.
- In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cardamom, and saffron. Let simmer until sugar dissolves.
- Let the syrup infuse for 30 minutes.
- Soak each croissant half in the syrup for 30-60 seconds on each side.
- Place the soaked croissants on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Garnish with slivered almonds or pistachios and serve warm, optionally drizzled with rose water syrup.
Notes
Use stale croissants for better syrup absorption. Adjust soaking time to prevent sogginess.
