Description
Quick and easy lazy pierogi recipe that simplifies traditional preparation, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Farmer’s Cheese (Use fresh for best results.)
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour (Swap with a gluten-free blend if needed.)
- 2 large Eggs (No substitutes advisable.)
- 4 tablespoons Butter (Try browning for a nutty flavor.)
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Optional for crunchy texture.)
- 2 tablespoons Sugar (Perfect with a hint of cinnamon.)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the farmer’s cheese, flour, and eggs until well combined. The mixture should be thick but smooth.
- Take a non-stick pan and melt the butter over medium heat. If you want that nutty taste, let the butter brown slightly.
- Pour the cheese mixture into the pan, spreading it evenly.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until it begins to set and turn golden brown.
- Flip the mixture gently and cook for another 4-5 minutes until the other side is also golden.
- If using breadcrumbs, sprinkle them on top before serving for added texture.
- Add sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon if you like a sweet touch.
Notes
Serve warm with melted butter or sour cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for 2 months.
