Description

Ingredients

  • 4-6 beef short ribs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh herbs (such as thyme and rosemary)


Instructions

  1. Season short ribs generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the ribs in a hot skillet until browned on all sides.
  3. Transfer the ribs to a slow cooker.
  4. Add red wine, beef broth, onions, carrots, garlic, and fresh herbs to the slow cooker.
  5. Cook on LOW for about 8 hours until the meat is tender.

Notes

For best results, do not skip the searing step and use a good quality dry red wine.
