Description

A warming spiked apple cider infused with spices for a cozy autumn drink.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 star anise
  • 1/2 cup bourbon or spiced rum
  • Honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • Apple slices or extra cinnamon sticks (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine apple cider, fresh ginger, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, allowing the spices to infuse for about 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in a splash of bourbon or rum.
  4. Serve hot in heatproof mugs and garnish with apple slices or cinnamon sticks.

Notes

Best made with fresh, unfiltered apple cider. Adjust sweetness as desired with honey or maple syrup.
