Description
A warming spiked apple cider infused with spices for a cozy autumn drink.
Ingredients
- 4 cups apple cider
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 star anise
- 1/2 cup bourbon or spiced rum
- Honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
- Apple slices or extra cinnamon sticks (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine apple cider, fresh ginger, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, allowing the spices to infuse for about 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in a splash of bourbon or rum.
- Serve hot in heatproof mugs and garnish with apple slices or cinnamon sticks.
Notes
Best made with fresh, unfiltered apple cider. Adjust sweetness as desired with honey or maple syrup.
