A delicious homemade stuffed crust pizza filled with melty cheese and hearty pepperoni, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 4 oz pepperoni slices
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon cornmeal (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough into a large circle.
- Place mozzarella cheese sticks around the outer edge of the dough, then fold the edge over to create a stuffed crust.
- Spread pizza sauce over the base, layer with pepperoni, and top with shredded mozzarella.
- Sprinkle cornmeal on the baking sheet or pizza stone to prevent sticking.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve with marinara sauce for dipping and enjoy with a fresh salad for a balanced meal. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
