Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Chocolate filling (semi-sweet or dark chocolate)
  • Additional sugar for coating


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warmed milk and yeast, letting it sit until frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Mix the frothy yeast, eggs, and melted butter into the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Roll out the dough and cut into donut shapes.
  6. Heat oil in a fryer or deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry donuts until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes each.
  8. Drain on paper towels and let cool slightly.
  9. Fill each donut with chocolate filling using a piping bag.
  10. Dip the filled donuts in sugar for coating.
