Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Chocolate filling (semi-sweet or dark chocolate)
- Additional sugar for coating
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warmed milk and yeast, letting it sit until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Mix the frothy yeast, eggs, and melted butter into the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Roll out the dough and cut into donut shapes.
- Heat oil in a fryer or deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry donuts until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes each.
- Drain on paper towels and let cool slightly.
- Fill each donut with chocolate filling using a piping bag.
- Dip the filled donuts in sugar for coating.
