Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- In a separate bowl, make the cookie dough with a similar base, mixing softened butter, sugars, eggs, and flour until desired consistency.
- Layer the brownie batter in the greased pan, followed by dollops of cookie dough on top.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is crinkly but still shiny.
- Let cool before slicing for cleaner cuts.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add espresso powder to the brownie batter. Experiment with different chocolate chips or mix-ins to personalize your brookies.
