Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 6 to 8 tablespoons ice water
- 6 to 8 apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn), peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare the crust by mixing flour, butter, and sugar; add ice water gradually until combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough and fit it into a pie dish.
- In a bowl, mix sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice for the filling.
- Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture.
- Cover with a top crust, crimp the edges, and cut slits for steam.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 45 minutes.
- Let it cool for a bit before serving.
