Ingredients
- 1 pound Gnocchi
 - 8 ounces Mushrooms (cremini, shiitake, or button)
 - 1/4 cup Fresh Basil Leaves (roughly chopped)
 - 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
 - 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
 - Kosher Salt (to taste)
 - Black Pepper (freshly ground, to taste)
 - 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese (freshly grated, optional for serving)
 
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients: gnocchi, mushrooms, fresh basil, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
 - Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
 - Add the gnocchi in a single layer and cook for 5-7 minutes without stirring until they are golden brown.
 - Flip the gnocchi and cook for another 5-7 minutes until both sides are golden and crispy.
 - In a separate pan, sauté sliced mushrooms with a pinch of salt for 8-10 minutes until they are golden brown.
 - Add minced garlic to the mushrooms and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
 - Combine the toasted gnocchi with the sautéed mushrooms and garlic in the skillet, tossing gently.
 - Add chopped fresh basil and stir for 1-2 minutes to meld the flavors.
 - Season with salt and pepper to taste, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.
 - Serve immediately, garnished with additional fresh basil and cheese if desired.
 
Notes
Make sure not to overcrowd the skillet when toasting the gnocchi for optimal crispiness. Feel free to add other vegetables or protein as variations.
