Description

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to a low temperature (around 200°F / 93°C).
  2. In a clean, dry mixing bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add sugar while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold in vanilla extract and cornstarch, if using, along with any food coloring.
  5. Pipe the meringue onto a lined baking sheet in desired shapes.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until the meringues are crisp and dry, about 1 hour.
  7. Allow the meringues to cool completely in the oven to prevent cracking.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature egg whites and ensure all tools are grease-free. Consider adding flavorings or using gel food coloring for variations.
