Description
Turon is a beloved Filipino snack that wraps sweet, ripe bananas in crispy pastry and deep-fries them to golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe saba bananas (or any ripe firm bananas)
- 1 cup sugar
- 12 spring roll wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Peel and slice the bananas into halves.
- Coat each banana slice in sugar.
- Wrap each banana slice in a spring roll wrapper, sealing the edges with a bit of water.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wrapped bananas until golden brown, flipping occasionally.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before serving.
Notes
Serve warm and optionally pair with vanilla ice cream or powdered sugar.
