Description
A refreshing sorbet that combines tart lemon and fragrant basil, perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 1 cup fresh lemon juice
 - 1 tablespoon lemon zest
 - 1 cup fresh basil leaves
 
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat water and sugar until dissolved to create a simple syrup.
 - Remove from heat, add fresh basil leaves, and steep for about 30 minutes.
 - Once cooled, strain the syrup to remove basil leaves.
 - In a blender, combine the basil-infused syrup with fresh lemon juice and lemon zest.
 - Blend until smooth and mix well.
 - Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions.
 - Once frozen, transfer the sorbet to an airtight container and chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
 
Notes
For optimal freshness, store the sorbet in an airtight container in the freezer and consume within 2 weeks.
